When to Say I Do…

Wedding Weather & Shifting Season Trends for Destination Weddings in Mallorca

If you’re dreaming of a destination wedding surrounded by sea views, warm breezes, and golden sunlight, Mallorca is one of the most beautiful places on earth to say “I do.”

But here’s something every couple should know: the weather in Mallorca is changing and the wedding season is shifting in some surprising ways.

As a wedding celebrant and full-time wedding planner in Mallorca, I have had a front-row seat over the past 12 years to the seasonal shifts happening across the Balearics.

Heatwaves & Thunderstorms: Welcome to the New Wedding Season

Just this July, I officiated a wedding at a stunning venue in Barcelona. It was beautiful and reaching up to 38 degrees, the guests feeling the heat during the ceremony & celebrations. This kind of extreme heat used to be rare. Now, it’s becoming more common in the peak summer months. Add in unexpected rainstorms, like the ones we had just last week, and it’s clear: the weather is no longer such a sure thing.

Mallorca wedding world slows down (slightly) in August as high temperatures and high season tourism is in full effect.

The New Seasonal Guide for Weddings in Mallorca

If you’re planning a destination wedding, here’s what you need to know about the updated seasons in Mallorca:

April – May

A fresh, romantic time of year.

Why couples love it: Blooming landscapes, fewer crowds, and cooler temperatures.

Keep in mind: Spring showers are still possible.

June

Previously the “sweet spot” for sun + comfort but now increasingly hotter towards the end of June.

Good to know: More weddings are moving earlier in June to avoid the end-of-month heatwave risk.

July – August

Once the peak of the destination wedding season, now often too hot to handle.

Pro tip: Plan a sunset ceremony at a coastal venue in Mallorca to enjoy a cooler, more scenic experience.

And in August? It’s now a great month to slow down. I often spend this time prepping for busy September weddings & sharing yoga and sound healing with visitors to the island to help them unwind during their summer stay in Mallorca.

September

Still beautiful and in high demand, warm seas, golden light and dates often book up far in advance.

October – The Hidden Gem

October weddings in Mallorca are on the rise!

  • Perfect temperatures (mid-20s)

  • Gorgeous sunsets

  • Great vendor availability

  • Often more budget-friendly

Don’t underestimate this incredible month for your destination wedding.
